- When we started this business, we quickly discovered that most of our customers believed that their web site was only advertised on the World Wide Web. NOT TRUE! List your site address everywhere. Good places are business cards, letterhead, brochures, TV, radio, and newspaper and magazine ads. Any place you would normally put your phone number, or mailing address should also have your web site address.
- Another great place to advertises your page is your email. Make yourself (and your employees) a signature file that promotes your company.
- Register with all the major search engines and directories. It is also important to know where you rank with each engine and keep track of this.
- Register with specific search engines and directories that are related to you business.
- Register with announcement services. Many are aimed toward specific businesses.
- List your site in Newsgroups that are specific to your business.
- Some companies like Banner Services and/or ring exchanges. Many of these are free and they do increase traffic a little for some business.
- Send out announcements to existing customers.
- Send out press releases.
- Winning a Web Site Award can sometimes draw traffic to your site. You may consider applying for some.
